OH, HEY!

Updated: Jan 19, 2019

Hey! Hello! Welcome! I'm so excited that you are here! I have been thinking about starting a design blog for a long time and finally have!

Let me give you a little back story as to why I have started this blog...

My major in school was graphic design (obviously) and my minor was communications. The thought process was that graphic design is often defined as visual communication, so it would only make sense to also study communications. Let me tell you, this was the best decision! Something that I think a lot of designers struggle with is talking about their work, and communications gave me the skills to confidently do so. Beyond that, communications showed me that I really enjoyed doing presentations and speeches, despite my introvert personality.

Ever since then I have had a dream in the back of my head of someday giving speeches on design. It’s so strange to see that in writing, as it’s not a dream I’ve really talked about. The big thing that has stopped me from pursing this is that I don't feel like I have the experience or right voice to inspire others. However, over the past year this dream has slowly been moving more into the front of my head. (That is a weird phrase but I'm going with it.) First though, I need to break down that brick wall, and that is where this blog comes in!

I'm excited to use this platform as a place to find my voice and gain experience creating motivational content. Right now, the plan is to blog weekly on Fridays. Posts are going to range from simply sharing projects to thoughts about cultivating creativity. I already have posts for the next few months planed out, and I'm super excited about them!

I hope that this becomes a place where you feel inspired! I would love to hear about the kind of content you would like to see. So, feel free to send me an email and let me know! ♥
